Challenge

The City of Clinton sought to modernize aging lighting infrastructure across some of its most heavily utilized public assets. At Traceway Park, existing sports lighting systems were becoming increasingly costly to maintain and were no longer providing the performance, visibility, and reliability needed to support one of the region’s premier recreational destinations.

As one of Mississippi’s leading destinations for youth and community athletics, the park’s 25 baseball and soccer fields required a lighting solution that could improve playability, enhance the spectator experience, and support the city’s long-term commitment to maintaining premier recreational facilities. At the same time, Clinton faced challenges with outdated streetlighting infrastructure that required frequent maintenance and consumed unnecessary energy.

By combining industry-leading sports lighting expertise, roadway lighting modernization, engineering design, and turnkey project delivery, SitelogIQ helped the City of Clinton transform critical public infrastructure into a safer, more efficient, and more sustainable community asset—while delivering measurable long-term savings and setting a new benchmark for municipal lighting projects across Mississippi.

Solution

SitelogIQ partnered with the City of Clinton to design and implement a comprehensive LED lighting modernization program that included both athletic field lighting and municipal streetlighting improvements.

Approved by the Mayor and Board of Aldermen in late 2024, the project became the largest sports lighting retrofit in Mississippi history, transforming lighting infrastructure across 25 baseball and soccer fields at Traceway Park. The modernization replaced outdated systems with advanced LED sports lighting engineered to provide superior visibility, more uniform light distribution, and enhanced control of glare and spill light.

To support long-term reliability and reduce maintenance demands, aging wooden poles were replaced with durable steel infrastructure designed for decades of service. The new lighting system delivers a higher-quality experience for athletes, coaches, officials, and spectators while significantly reducing energy consumption and maintenance requirements.

Beyond the athletic complex, SitelogIQ extended the benefits of LED modernization throughout the community by installing 78 new LED streetlights and poles across the city. Leveraging extensive expertise in roadway and exterior lighting design, the team implemented a solution that improves nighttime visibility, enhances safety for drivers and pedestrians, and creates a more consistent and welcoming environment throughout Clinton.

As a turnkey partner, SitelogIQ managed every phase of the project—from engineering and lighting design to installation and implementation—ensuring the city received a high-performance solution aligned with its operational goals, budget priorities, and vision for the future.
