Clinton-Graceville-Beardsley (CGB) Schools, Independent School District #2888, serves 400 students in pre-K through 12th grade across three rural communities in Big Stone County, Minnesota. Like many districts across the nation, CGB Schools faced aging facilities, extensive deferred maintenance, logistical and operational challenges, and difficult financial choices.
SitelogIQ’s team provided CGB Schools with a comprehensive range of services and solutions, including facility condition assessments, forming and moderating a Community Advisory Committee to discuss solutions and project opportunities, referendum support to help secure a $25 million bond, financial planning, including securing a Solar for Schools grant and Otter Tail Power Company rebate, project design, and construction management.
The Community Advisory Committee determined that it would be best to create a single, shared campus to house their students from pre-K through 12th grade. This project involves renovating and expanding the newer building in Graceville to include:
The District broke ground on the new campus in March of 2025. This project is slated over two summer breaks to minimize disruptions to learning. In the coming years, the unified CGB campus will be more than a physical space for academics, arts, and athletics. It will serve as an enduring symbol of the community’s collaboration and shared vision for their future.
“We’re thankful the voters trusted the school board and the Community Advisory Committee, led by SitelogIQ, to come to this decision,” said Brad Kelvington, CGB Schools’ Superintendent. “Our collaboration with SitelogIQ turned out to be the reason, I believe, we were fortunate to pass the referendum.”
