Perry Community School District

With ~1,800 students across their early learning, elementary, middle, and high schools, Perry Community School District in Perry, Iowa, is committed to creating modern, safe, and inspiring learning spaces. Like many school districts nationwide, Perry faces the challenges of an aging infrastructure, limited program space, and rising operational costs. Seeking to improve its facilities for future-ready learning and activities, the District partnered with SitelogIQ to implement critical facility improvements across multiple projects, buildings, and phases.

High School Industrial Tech & Multi-Purpose Room

  • Phase I included renovating 13,000 square feet and constructing a new 17,000 square-foot addition.
  • Expanded and modernized a 71-workstation industrial technology area and three automotive bays with more space and state-of-the-art equipment.
  • Built a new 9,400-square-foot, multi-purpose “Turf Room” to serve wrestling, football, cheer, marching band, and serve as a temporary 6th-grade classroom during later middle school renovations.

Middle School Renovation

  • Phase II included renovating 80,000 square feet of the 1960’s building, including new labs, enhanced and expanded 36 classrooms, installed new lighting, updated HVAC, secured vestibule, and other improvements.
  • Converted outdated library space into collaborative 32-seat STEAM and computer labs.
  • Relocated the main office to the building entrance for security, added cameras and alarms, upgraded communications and protective glazing elements.
  • Delivered during the pandemic and within budget.

Elementary School Renovation & Addition

Perry Community School District is looking ahead to completing the elementary renovations and continuing to explore facility upgrades that align with its educational mission. Work is scheduled to take place over two summer breaks to help minimize disruptions and involves:

  • Adding three new preschool classrooms and renovating every inch of the 1991 building.
  • Upgrading mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems; replacing outdated HVAC systems; installing energy-efficient LEDs; and improving IT/internet coverage.
  • Enhancing ADA accessibility indoors and outdoors, with six updated restrooms and 210 ADA-compliant doors.
  • Installing a new playground and improving Perry’s Academic, Cultural, & Enrichment Services (PACES) before/after-school and summer program spaces.
