This role provides day-to-day accounting support to the Project Management Team. Working closely with the Project Manager, you’ll monitor job progress and research variances to estimate and respond to inquiries from owners/customers and subcontractors. You’ll prepare owner/customer billings, follow up on A/R status, process subcontractor payment applications and other job costs, and verify employee time charged to jobs.
Position Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related technical field
- 5 to 7 years relevant experience and/or training, construction experience a plus
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency in Word/Outlook
- Previous experience on ERP job cost platform (Sage Timberline, Viewpoint, JD Edwards, Dynamics/Great Plains) is a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in team-oriented environment
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with focus on process improvements
- Flexibility and willingness to learn
Position Responsibilities:
- At job start up, determine billing info and other accounting requirements and enter cost estimate into Sage 300 CRE job cost system and staffing data base
- Prepare monthly customer invoices, including AIA format when required
- Monitor A/R aging and follow up on outstanding invoices
- Prepare monthly financial cost projections for CM, Design and Commissioning jobs
- Maintain cost file that is used to prepare proposals and estimates
- Maintain staffing data base that is used for project scheduling
- Process and remit payroll taxes
- Review remote time sheets for accuracy of job coding
- Generate job cost posting
- Account reconciliations (payroll withholdings/tax and benefit accruals)
- Annual audit schedules and information requests
- Review payroll for accuracy prior to posting
