The Challenge:
Lower Merion School District, located in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, is just northwest of Philadelphia. Serving approximately 8,500 students, the district experienced an increase in population in the early 2010s, causing the district to evaluate facility needs.
The Solution:
SitelogIQ was hired to provide construction management for a new middle school to alleviate crowding at the district’s six elementary schools and two middle schools. The school will feature a “heart” area, where students can congregate to socialize and collaborate. Traditional single classrooms will be replaced by “learning communities,” which are flexible spaces that can be used for large-group team teaching, small group instruction, or student collaboration.
